Are all activities included with my GA ticket?

There are a handful of activities that are NOT included with General Admission tickets. They are as follows:

  • Welcome Feast: Friday evening 19+ family style dinner. $75 per person, very limited tickets
  • Yule Ball: Saturday night 19+ fundraising gala and silent auction. $75 per person, very limited tickets. Cocktail Attire
  • Class Trip: Your favourite Wizarding Classes! Some are learning, some are make and take. $7.50 each class. Limited tickets.
  • Tons-of Wizards Tournament: Self-guided team scavenger hunt. $10 per person in advance, slightly higher if purchased at the event. 2-8 Players Per Team
  • Escape This!: 10 minute escape room challenges ranging from Easy to Extremely Difficult. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 (limited number) or slightly higher if purchased at the event. 2-6 Players

There are MANY activities, exhibits and booths that are included with the GA ticket!

When is the festival?

The festival itself happens on Saturday and Sunday August 4th and 5th from 8am-8pm ONLY. Friday evening is our Welcome Feast and Saturday night is the Yule Ball. For a full schedule of events please see the Schedule page.

How much does it cost to get into the festival?

All tickets must be purchased in advance. General Admission tickets are $40 per person, children 4 & under are free. There are select items (games, crafts and activities) that have fees that help us raising funds for charity. You can pay-as-you-go for these booths. Where is the festival?

Using GPS – 812 Old Highway 8, Rockton, ON L0R 1X0
Roughly in between Hamilton and Cambridge.

Where do I park?

Please note that the Rockton Fairgrounds is in a rural area and therefore has no public transportation. There is approximately 60 acres of parking onsite, with 5 different entrances. Volunteers will be onsite to coordinate.

Can I bring my dog?

Pets are not permitted at our festival. Vehicles will be checked upon entry to ensure pets are not left in cars.

Service animals are welcome.

I bought tickets - where do I pick them up?

All tickets will be sent to the email address you entered when purchasing your tickets. Please ensure you have all tickets printed and ready upon arrival. You will be given a wristband which you must wear for the duration of the festival.

Tickets can only be scanned once, so please do not forward copies of your tickets to anyone.

I missed out on getting class/ compete/ VIP tickets? Will i still have fun?

YES! Even if you didn’t get extra items, you will still have fun! There is a lot of free entertainment to be enjoyed.

What happens to the money raised?

Asylum Industries Unlimited is a for-profit company, however there are several specific areas/ activities that are for raising funds, awareness, or specific items for various local and national organizations and charities. For more information, please see our Charitable Events page.

Who runs this festival?

The event is being hosted by Asylum Industries Unlimited, and staffed by local residents, volunteers, and helpers.

Can i wear a costume?

YES PLEASE DO! We encourage all types costumes for the festival – it makes the weekend that much more fun! HOWEVER we ask you leave all real and fake weaponry (wands are permitted) at home and keep in mind this is a family friendly event as you plan your costume. Will the festival be a rain or shine event?

YES! We are in Canada, and one just never knows what Mother Nature will bring! We encourage everyone to be prepared for ALL weather and bring a magical (pink) umbrella to stay dry, just in case! Most activities/ events/ exhibitions/ etc., can be moved indoors if it’s too wet.
